The Official Report

Thank you all that have been praying and do continue to pray for Isaiah. Let me inform you all as to the complete story. Late Tuesday night Isaiah (17 mos.) began vomiting and having diarrhea. This happens a little more often here than in the U.S. so we weren’t too worried. However, when he started doing it more often we knew dehydration could be a problem. All day on Wednesday his problems continued and he became more dehydrated. He would drink liquids but very soon after throw them back up. It wasn’t until Wednesday night that he began to show common dehydration symptoms. We knew he had to see a doctor, but due to the fact that we didn’t know any doctors in Kampong Cham (where we live), and it was already late, we decided to take him to the emergency room at a hospital in Phnom Penh.

The doctor there almost immediately said that they would need to keep him overnight to give him IV fluids. He said he was 8% dehydrated, which is moderate (10% becomes ‘severe’). He also said that it appeared this was all caused by a rotavirus. Once we got into a room, he stopped vomiting. We stayed there two nights. His diarrhea has finally started to slack off now.

Thank you for praying for him and for all of us. Please continue. We thank the Lord that He has helped little Isaiah.
